The whole idea

You were better at this at nine.

You knew how to make a friend in about four minutes. You could spend an entire afternoon on a rope swing. You went home when the streetlights came on and not one second earlier.

Camp Cahoots is four days up a mountain in British Columbia where the whole point is to do that again, on purpose, with a hundred and forty other adults who also miss it. There are counsellors. There is a mess hall. There is a colour war you will take far too seriously by Saturday afternoon.

Your phone goes in a pouch at the gate and comes back on the last morning. There is no alcohol anywhere on the property. What is left, it turns out, is the good part.

Come alone. Most people do. You will not be alone by dinner.

The only camera at camp is ours

You won't be taking photos. You'll be in them.

Phones are locked up, so we shoot the whole weekend on film and everybody goes home with the roll. No angles, no retakes, no posting it from the fire pit.

Where you sleep

A real bed and a door that locks.

Nobody is sleeping in a bunkhouse and nobody is sleeping in a tent. Every camper gets a proper room with a real bed, a private bathroom and somewhere to put your bag. Bring a friend, bring five, or bring nobody.

The Solo

Your own studio, your own key, your own door to close. For the campers coming by themselves who would still like a room of their own at the end of the night.

One queen bed · Studio suite · Private bathroom and kitchenette

$1,595per camper

The Pair

A one-bedroom suite for two, made up as one queen or two singles, whichever you ask for. The most popular way to come, and the easiest way to talk a friend into it.

One queen or two singles · One-bedroom suite · Private bathroom and kitchen

$1,395per camper

The Six

A two-bedroom suite that sleeps four to six on real beds, with a full kitchen and a living room to fall asleep in. This is the one your group chat books at two in the morning.

Four to six beds · Two-bedroom suite · Full kitchen, living room, balcony

$1,195per camper

Every price covers all four days, every meal, every activity and every DJ set.

Nothing at camp costs extra except the tuck shop, and the tuck shop is cash. Indicative 2027 pricing, confirmed when the venue contract is signed.

House Rules

Painted on the mess hall wall

  1. Your phone goes in the pouch. Locked at the gate on the first afternoon, unlocked after breakfast on the last morning. There is a camp phone in the office and we will come and find you.
  2. There is no alcohol here. Not served, not sold, not in your bag, not in your car. This is the whole reason the weekend feels the way it does.
  3. The sauna runs at seven every morning. Cold plunge after. It is entirely optional and nobody who does it regrets it.
  4. You are on a team the moment you arrive. You do not get to pick it. You will care about it far more than you expect to.
  5. Lights out is a suggestion. Quiet by one in the morning is not.
  6. Talk to the person beside you. Half the camp came alone. They are all doing the same brave thing you are.
  7. Leave the place better than you found it. Including the fire pit, especially the fire pit.

Questions

The ones everybody asks.

I would be coming alone. Is that weird?

It is the most normal thing here. Around half the camp arrives by themselves, which is why you get a buddy in the first hour and a colour war team before dinner. By the second day you will not be able to remember which people you arrived knowing.

Are you actually taking my phone?

Yes. It goes into a locked pouch at the gate and you keep the pouch with you all weekend. There is a camp phone in the office, the office is staffed around the clock, and if someone needs you we will walk out and find you. Photos are covered. We shoot the whole weekend on film and every camper gets the full gallery afterward.

Why no alcohol?

Because drinking turns an adult camp into a party, and a party is something you can already get any weekend of the year. Without it, people get up at seven for the sauna, take the talent show seriously, and remember the whole thing. It is not a recovery program and nobody will ask you why you are here.

How cold does it get?

Daytime sits in the low twenties and nights drop to around six degrees. Every room is heated, so is the lodge and the mess hall, and there is a fire going outside from late afternoon until the last person goes to bed. Bring a real jacket for the evenings and you will be fine.

What is the food like?

Catered on site, three meals a day plus snacks, built around producers from the valley the camp sits in. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and every allergy handled properly rather than as an afterthought. You tell us when you book.

Where is it, exactly?

A private mountain property in the BC interior, a couple of hours from Kelowna. We take the whole place over in its quietest week of the year, which is how the whole thing stays affordable. The exact address goes out once you have booked, along with the carpool board.

What if I need to cancel?

Full refund up to ninety days out, half up to thirty, and after that you can transfer your spot to someone else at no cost. We would rather your ticket got used than sat empty.

Three more sleeps. Well, closer to three hundred.

The waitlist goes first. Fewer than a hundred and forty spots, and we expect them to go in a week.
